The First Step Toward Recovery

We hope you have read all the information provided on our website. Now that you have an idea of what makes our facility unique, we encourage you to take the next step and call us for treatment. We want you to know that your new life is achievable, but you have to take the first step toward recovering from your addiction. When you call us, we’ll describe what happens during the enrollment process. Once you’ve made the hardest decision possible, making the phone call, we want your enrollment and welcome into our facility to be easy, warm, and inviting.

How to Start Your Recovery Journey

As soon as you give us a call at SCA Recovery, we will ask you a series of questions. These questions are to get your basic information. We also need this information to help us make a preliminary assessment on whether or not we can provide the services you need at our treatment center. While we want to treat as many clients as possible, we know that we can’t treat clients whose needs are more than we can provide for. After you’ve provided the initial information and we’ve completed an assessment of your needs, we can answer any questions you may have about our treatment programs and facility. Be sure to ask the Enrollment Specialist about the items you can bring with you, such as clothing, and the items you can’t bring with you, such as technology.

What Can I Bring to Rehab?

Here’s a short list of the items you’re allowed to bring:

  • You’ll need your personal identification information on government documents. Be sure to bring a driver’s license or state ID. You also need to bring your insurance card so we can verify coverage for you. If you have a pharmacy or prescription card, you’ll want to bring that as well.
  • If you take prescription medication for conditions such as asthma, high blood pressure, etc., that a doctor has prescribed you, bring them with you in their original containers.
  • Bring some change of clothes. You will need enough clothes to wear for five days, a swimsuit, and workout attire. You’ll also want to bring items you want for your personal hygiene, such as a toothbrush, shampoo, deodorant, lotion, and conditioner.
  • If you want to smoke, you are allowed to bring cigarettes or e-cigarettes with you. There are designated smoking areas at our facility.

There are also items you can’t bring:

  • Please don’t bring technology with you, such as computers, tablets, and smartwatches. We want your focus throughout treatment to be on yourself. We want you to be purposeful and mindful during your stay with us.
  • Leave any personal items that contain alcohol, such as mouthwash, perfume, and cologne outside the treatment center.
  • Be sure that nothing you are bringing in is sharp or could be used as a weapon. Weapons of any kind are not allowed. We want all our clients to feel safe and secure.

When you get ready to enter treatment, you may need to undergo a detoxification process. This process is important because your body needs to rid itself of the substance. The withdrawal process can last for up to two weeks, and we will make sure your environment is calm and soothing while you undergo the detox process. We have a doctor always ready to help our clients with withdrawal through medically assisted detox. That way, you can detox in as safe a manner as possible.

If you have questions about your treatment program, the enrollment process, or what to bring, we are just a phone call away. In fact, we encourage you to reach out right now.
